In addition to the four hares located in Chipping Sodbury in connection with the Cotswold Hare Trail, there are now a further twenty smaller ones to be found in the windows of shops and other business premises around the town, constituting Chipping Sodbury’s very own hare trail for 2017!
Organised by Sodbury Chamber of Commerce to help support interest in local businesses that are members of the Chamber, the Chipping Sodbury Hare Trail 2017 is also showcasing the work of local artists. All the hares on display are sited in the windows of businesses that are members of Sodbury Chamber.
Join us on Sunday 4th June from 12:00 noon to 6 p.m. for a fantastic fun family day centred around Broad Street in the heart of Chipping Sodbury!
It’s the return of The Big Lunch, Chipping Sodbury’s annual festival combining elements of picnic and street party. This year’s event has been named Seaside Sodbury and will have a beach theme. Dozens of beach huts lovingly hand-painted by the organisers of the event will be installed to set the scene and put you in beach party mood despite the inland setting!
The Cotswold Hare Trail this year takes in over 25 towns and villages in the greater Cotswold region and is set to feature upwards of 75 large sculptures of hares, each of them uniquely hand-decorated by one of almost 70 different local artists and painters.
The idea behind the annual trail is to put on a fun event that celebrates, supports and nurtures the community spirit of the Cotswold region, and gives exposure and appreciation to the region’s artists. At the same time, it offers a wonderful opportunity for family outings and weekend excursions that adults and children can share together!
